Jamaica College Spreads Holiday Cheer with Carol Service and Christmas Treat
The spirit of Christmas came alive at Jamaica College as the institution hosted a heartwarming carol service filled with gospel music and beloved Christmas carols. This festive event set the tone for the holiday season, celebrating joy, community, and generosity.
A major highlight of the season was the Christmas treat, made possible through the kindness and contributions of students and teachers and a generous donation from Liguanea Drug and Garden. The collaborative efforts underscored the true meaning of Christmas: giving and togetherness.
The school’s Christmas box received a festive makeover thanks to Miss Perry, Tanya Small, and Sashan Davis’s creative touch. Adding to the holiday charm, Nurse Gilpin crafted a beautiful Christmas frame that became a centerpiece of the celebrations.
Gifts poured in from various sources, with special contributions from Mrs. Felicia Johnson and Rafio Heaven. Not stopping at gift-giving, Mrs. Johnson, along with her husband and son, played a hands-on role in the kitchen during the treat day, exemplifying dedication and community spirit.
Miss Abrahams took charge of the kitchen activities, demonstrating unwavering commitment to ensuring everything ran smoothly. Meanwhile, Miss Vanessa Smith along with Miss. Morris led the gift team with efficiency and cheer, supported by Miss Lisa Belnavis, a parent whose significant involvement was deeply appreciated.
The decorating team, under the capable leadership of Miss Perry, transformed the venue into a festive wonderland. T-shirts for the occasion were generously donated by Miss L. Berke and Miss Perry, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to the event.
Jamaica College’s carol service and Christmas treat not only brought joy to those in attendance but also strengthened the bonds of the school community. It was a celebration of unity, compassion, and the shared joy of the holiday season.
