Christmas Treat 2024

On a crisp December morning in 2024, Jamaica College came alive with the spirit of Christmas as students, staff, parents, and well-wishers gathered for the annual celebration. The event, a cherished tradition, blended solemn reflections with joyful celebrations, creating a festive atmosphere that resonated throughout the school grounds.

The morning’s highlight was a special Christmas treat, a collaborative effort made possible through the generosity of students, teachers, and corporate donors, including Liguanea Drug and Garden. This act of kindness exemplified the true spirit of giving that the holiday season embodies.

Behind the scenes, several dedicated individuals worked tirelessly to bring the event to life. Miss Perry, Tanya Small, and Sashan Davis added a touch of festive charm by redecorating the Christmas box, while Nurse Gilpin created a beautiful Christmas frame that became a centerpiece for many cherished photographs. In the kitchen, Miss Abrahams led a committed team to ensure everyone enjoyed delicious meals, supported by the remarkable efforts of Mrs. Felicia Johnson, her husband, and their son. The gift team, skillfully managed by Miss Vanessa Smith, received invaluable assistance from Miss Lisa Belnavis, a devoted parent. Their collective efforts ensured that every participant left with not just a gift, but also a heart full of joy.

The event’s success was further augmented by generous contributions from Miss L. Berke and Miss Perry, who donated T-shirts that were distributed to volunteers and participants, adding a special touch to the festivities.

As the morning drew to a close, the air was filled with warmth and camaraderie. The Jamaica College Christmas Treat was not merely an event but a testament to the power of community and shared purpose. It served as a reminder of the school’s commitment to fostering values of compassion, collaboration, and celebration among its students and the wider community.

With another successful treat in the books, Jamaica College looks forward to continuing this tradition of bringing people together in the true spirit of Christmas.
