Jamaica College (JC) celebrated its annual Sports Day on March 4, 2025, at the school’s Ashenheim Stadium. This event is a cornerstone of the school’s tradition, fostering unity, athletic excellence, and school spirit among students, staff, and alumni.
Pre-Sports Day Activities
In the lead-up to the main event, JC organized a series of pre-sports day activities from January 27 to February 28, 2025. These activities aimed to build excitement and prepare students for the competitions ahead. Weekly events were held in the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, engaging students in various athletic and recreational pursuits.

House Competitions and Standings
JC’s Sports Day is structured around house competitions, with students representing their respective houses in various track and field events. As of February 13, 2025, the point standings were as follows:
Murray House: Leading with exceptional performances in the shot put and other field events.
Other Houses: Close contenders, showcasing talent and determination across various disciplines.
These standings set the stage for intense and spirited competitions on the main event day.
Highlights of Sports Day 2025
The Sports Day featured various events, including sprints, relays, long-distance races, and field events such as the long jump and javelin throw. Students demonstrated athletic prowess, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The event also served as a platform for talent identification, with outstanding athletes recognized for their achievements.

Community Engagement
The event attracted the JC community, parents, alumni, and sports enthusiasts. The school’s initiative to bottle its own branded water, launched on March 4, 2025, added a unique touch to the festivities, promoting hydration and school pride.
