The Manley/Nethersole (both being Old Boys) photo which appeared in Sir Herbert MacDonald’s book in the portion relating to JC winning Champs in 1959, simply says :

“The Hon. N.W. Manley and Hon. N.N . Nethersole relaxing from Judging at the Sports a few years earlier.” 

One old boy recalls, as he looked at this picture:
“I recall seeing it also in a Cricket Souvenir Programme from the 1960s, which went on to say that from the looks on their faces, JC was not having a good day!”
