Grand Opening – JC Ashenheim Stadium

World Class Stadium, now opened at JC – 20/2/2019

Jamaica College has added to its acclaimed facility of legendary infrastructure with its recent opening of the Ashenheim Stadium. The opening ceremony saw a star studded cast of dignitaries.

Guests included Ian Forbes (whose brain-child it was), Claudette Chin (who put the proposal together), Chairman of the Board Michael Bernard & Principal Wayne Robinson (who followed through), Michael & Lewis Ashenheim (who made the dream a reality). Also present were Chairman Project Committee Dr. the Hon. R. Danny Williams, OJ, CD.

The Keynote Speaker Prime Minister Most Hon. Andrew Holness, ON, MP, mentioned that Jamaica College now has the only state of the Art sporting facility in Jamaica’s Secondary school system. We were also please to see former principal and now Minister of Education Senator Ruel Reid. Other noted Jamaica College officials were Chairman of the JC Foundation Chris Williams, Chairman of the JC Trust Derek Jones (chaired the function) and many more past and present students of Jamaica College with friends and family.

Through online streaming, there were over 3,000 from multiple countries. The Milestone was memorable and well executed by Vice Principal Blake-Williams and her team. The support team included management, teachers, cadets, students from the dorm, student heads and the Digital Arts club. Ready-Set-Go! and we are off to a brilliant start.
