Eyes on Carifta Games

Coach Johnson writes: A record number of eight (8) JC collegemen were selected to represent Jamaica at the Carifta Games in Grand Cayman April 20th-23rd 2019.

J’Voughnn Blake last year’s U17 1500m champion will seek to defend his title in a quest for double gold as he participates in the U17 800m and 1500m, whilst his team mate Fabian Campbell, making this his first National team, will go for gold in the U20 1500 and 5000m open. 2017 Carifta Gold medalist in the 4x100m relay Ryiem Robertson will try and go for double gold as he will end facing the starters in the U20 boys, 100m dash and 4x100m relays, his teammate Christopher Scott will go in the U17 boys 200m and 4x100m relays.

Champs silver medalist Apalos Edward’s will go for gold in the U20 boys Triple Jump, while his teammate Rajaun Ricketts, who is also making his first National appearance, will go for gold in the U17 boys Triple Jump. Neil-Matthew Sutherland and Tariq Dacres, also making their first National team, will go in the U17 110m sprint hurdles and 400m dash respectively.
