Congratulations to our golden boy Jonathon Campbell (4C) who won the National award for best glass 4 solo at the JCDC National Drum fest 2022. He successfully defended his title and he now awaits his invitation to the Performing Arts Night of Excellence where he will also defend his drummer of the year award.
Artistic Director of the Drumming programme Mr. Mazlyn expressed his delight in Jonathan’s award saying that “It was evident that he won when he completed his performance as the overall impact and delivery was just about flawless. The interesting thing is he was also not at his peak physically.” Miss Biggs, faculty advisor for the Jamaica College Performing Arts Kreative Kollective (JC PAKK) also shared her thoughts on Mr. Campbell exploits . “He is a leader not just on stage but off and has been consistent in setting a high standard for his peers. This performance is not a surprise he has been very consistent.”
Jonathan’s words when asked how he felt about his achievement. “Well about the award I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to win something. For the performance I am happy for all the work that was put into it and lastly for the achievement, its something to hold on to and keep forever”
