ODPEM (Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management), the organization that (a) guides in disaster preparedness (b) identifies disaster threats and risks throughout the country and (c) formulates plans to create a state of readiness to meet the needs of victims when a disaster strikes.
Jamaica College had the esteemed pleasure of having facilitators from ODPEM on February 1, 2023 met with members of Jamaica College’s students (representatives from different year groups), staff (representatives from different departments including the plant manager) and a few Teachers.
They will form a team of Safety Wardens- now trained in Earthquake Safety & Basic Disaster Management.
