The Jamaica College Robotics team was recently highlighted on TVJ for their groundbreaking success at the Robotics Leggo Qualifiers. The team, comprising Akai Hamilton, Jordan Thomas, Ashannafi Rowe, Joshua Martin, and Gordon Garrison, made history as the first Caribbean team to win the prestigious Best Innovation Project and Best Presentation awards.

The feature celebrated their qualification for the Regional Championships in Florida and their outstanding achievements in STEM. Jamaica College Team PILE Returns from FIRST LEGO League Qualifiers!


Jamaica College’s robotics team, Team PILE, has made the institution and the nation proud by excelling at the FIRST LEGO League Qualifiers. This remarkable achievement took place at the recent Robotics LEGO Qualifiers, where the team showcased their technical skills, creativity, and innovation to clinch two prestigious awards: Best Innovation Project and Best Presentation. These accolades highlight the team’s hard work and mark a historic milestone, as they are the first Caribbean team to win the Best Innovation Project award.

The team—comprising Akai Hamilton (3rd Form), Jordan Thomas (2nd Form), Ashannafi Rowe (3rd Form), Joshua Martin (2nd Form), and Gordon Garrison (3rd Form)—demonstrated exceptional teamwork and ingenuity in addressing real-world problems using robotics.
